16 Weeks = 3 Months 4 Weeks

This week has been kind of a blur. We had the baptism on Sunday, Adelle started a new daycare on Monday, my students took the MCA (state) tests on Tuesday and Wednesday, I don't remember what went on Thursday, and Friday Brian wasn't home for dinner. Luckily today we will have a chance to hang out as a family during the day. Then tonight, Brian and I are going to a silent auction for my school. I am excited for it and hope it turns out well.

Adelle seems to really like her new DayCare, Grow With Me Family Childcare. Ms Christina is very nice and there is another little one, just a few months older than Addie, there for Adelle to play with. She has been adjusting to the change very well!

As for Adelle:
She is sitting up, when we prop her, for longer periods of time. We have a little seat for her that she likes to sit in. We put it on the table while we eat or are cooking, and she watches us. So observant! She loves to sing or talk when I sing, and she'll even hold the sound she's making! She is still drooling, but no teeth have been spotted yet. I know it's early. She kick a lot - Auntie Maria said she's practicing karate! She loves her jumper and she is finally starting to get interested in toys. I am not sure if the toy thing is good or bad! :) Oh, Adelle is also sleeping through the night! We can put her down around 7:30p and she hasn't woken up until about 6a! Hallelujah!!

15 Weeks = Baptism (3 months 2 weeks)

Our little girl was baptized today!

Brian and I have asked our good friends Becky, Pat and Ben to be Adelle's God Parents. They agreed and come out yesterday for the service along with Nonna and Papi, Auntie Maria, Auntie Angie and Uncle Dale, Nana and Papa, and Great Grandma Dolores. Pastor Rod, the same Pastor who married us, did the service and it was perfect! He is such a wonderful person and really great at what he does!! After the service, everyone crammed into our house for lunch and our traditional Lamb Cake.

Thank you all for being with us today. It means a lot to us and we are so happy you are a part of our lives!

Adelle is growing!
She loves to sit in her little chair. She is still as curious as ever and we can't get over how observant she is! We brought out the jumper and she loves to sit in that and move around. It plays music when it's moved so when it plays, she stops and listens to it! She is kicking her legs more and more when she is laying down and has even rolled onto her right side from her back. She likes to suck on her hands and is continuing to drool in crazy amounts! She is getting so big! In fact, I weighed her the other day and she is 12.2 pounds!!

Beautiful Blogger

I noticed that one of my blogger friends has nominated me as a Beautiful Blogger. Thank you so much Connie!! I am supposed to tell you five things about myself and then nominate 5 blogger friends to do the same. So, here we go:

1.) I want to be a stay at home mom!

2.) I love to cook and bake but am scared to make something Brian doesn't like so I don't do it at all. Silly, I know!

3.) I love working out, but hate GOING somewhere to do it. Especially now, without my family.

4.) I want to live in a 1 or 1 1/2 story Craftsman style home someday with beautiful built-ins and gorgeous woodwork throughout the house. I hate the look of new construction - it's not home to me.

5.) I would love to drive a mini-van/small SUV - top of the line and super safe!

And, my 5 nominees are:

12 Weeks = 2 Months 4 Weeks

So I understand the fact that we celebrate our birthdays on the day we were born every year. But I am still learning how to tell people how old Adelle is. The doctor wants it in weeks and normal people want months. I can do both, but sometimes they don't line up and sometimes the doctor wants to use both: he wants to see her at her 16 week/4 month appointment. Well, we have that set up for May 5th; Adelle will be 4 months and 3 days old, but she will be 17 1/2 weeks old. I know it's because we have 5 weeks in some months and 4 in others, but it's strange how we "lose" a week here and there. Oh well.

Adelle is growing!

Anyway, however old she is in weeks, she will be 3 months old on Friday. I am SO excited that she is getting bigger! She is talking A LOT more and I love listening to her. She cracks herself up when she's talking which makes me giggle too! She is starting to grab things and hold on tight - my shirt, her shirt, my hair, Grandma Dottie's necklace, strings, and toys. We still don't have a whole lot of toys, but we have some she enjoys looking at and grabbing. Plus, where would we put them?! She is still looking around, as curious as ever, but now you can tell she is looking at something. Really focusing on it, because before you tell she was just looking in the general direction of someone/thing. She loves to kick her legs and swing her arms too. She usually moves her left leg more, but I'm hoping that her right will catch up to the left! :) Oh - and she is starting to roll over!! She has done it a couple times before but it hasn't been consistent and there has been a long period of time in between rolls, so we didn't really think anything of it. BUT, she has now rolled onto her side (left side) a couple of times a day for the past week or so!! You can tell she really wants to keep going and just can't. YAY! Another YAY is that Adelle has grown out of most of her 0-3 month clothes!! She is really growing fast! I put on a sleep n' play and she stretched out and I looked at her little foot... her foot was about an inch longer than the foot that was sewn into the outfit and the shoulders were a tad tight. Poor thing! So I put her into a 3-6 month outfit and she looked SO much more comfortable!!

As for me and Brian, we are doing well. We survived our first conference nights at school with a child so I am hoping it will only get easier. It was really tough not to see Adelle all day (12 hours)!! I am now on spring break and getting to enjoy my sweet girl all day for a week! I am so excited!! Oh, Brian and I have also come up with a gym schedule so that each of us can go while the other watches Addie. We hope it will work out (no pun intended).

I will leave you will pictures of Adelle - SO CUTE!!

11 Weeks Old = 2 Months 3 weeks

Adelle is getting so big!

It seems like yesterday when she was so tiny and barely fit into newborn clothes - now she has out-grown the newborn size and is loving the 0-3s that she is stretching out. Some of the one-piece outfits are snug!! I have also discovered that she likes to make it hard for Mommy to take her legs out of the sleepers. She'll straighten her legs, bend them, then straighten them again really quickly - she's playing and I love it!

She is making more facial expressions now, copying what we do to her. I love the looks she makes and can see me AND Daddy in them! My favorites include "the look," the beginning of a cry or her pouty face, and any smiles she makes.

Adelle has rolled to her side a few times, but it still isn't consistent. I get so excited that she did it that I think I scare her into rolling onto her back again. I'll have to get a picture of it sometime - if I'm fast enough.

She has begun to discover her hands too. She'll suck on them, open them really wide and wave them around, hit me with them while she eats (or the bottle), and she LOVES to grab things!! They are usually things that are on her, like straps to her overalls or the straps on her car seat, but she has started grabbing my hair and clothes. It is adorable!

When she grabs things she brings them right to her mouth. This is not so adorable! Right now it is ok, because we don't usually have anything crazy around her, but it is funny. We will be wiping her face - because she drools like mad - and she'll grab the kleenex or cloth and try to put it in her mouth. Let the tug-of-war games begin!

She drools. Like mad. Sometimes we have to put a bib on her or wipe her face constantly because she just smiles and drools - all over the place.

Adelle is also sleeping a good amount of time during the night! She's been sleeping almost 7 hours!! Sometimes she'll sleep just 5 hours but I will take what I can get! She'll also usually wake up to eat then go back to bed right away, so that has also been really nice.

She likes to stand and straighten her legs. She likes to sit with you and look at things. She is very curious and takes everything in! Sometimes while she is looking around, she is very quiet. Other times she is talking away, telling you what she thinks. It is so wonderful to hear her little voice! Squeaking, gnawing, grunting, cooing - I love it all!

Geepers, I just want to cuddle with her!! She is growing so fast!!

p.s.
Grandma Dottie and Grandpa John took Adelle for her first walk outside on Sunday! It was about 60 degrees here and they took advantage of the warm weather. They also sat on their porch with her for a bit. Adelle just looked around but seemed to really enjoy it! YAY for warmer weather and YAY for Grandparents!

Part Vent and Part Asking for Help

I am chubby.

I know this and was starting to do something about it when we found out I was pregnant. We watched my weight throughout my pregnancy and it was fantastic, "right where it should be for a healthy pregnancy," the doctor said, "you're doing great." Now that I am two months out, I am right back where I started, before pregnancy, and want to do something about it.

This is where the venting begins...
I know a person who makes comments about people being fat all the time. This person says, "If you don't want to be fat, don't be. It's as simple as that. Make sure you're burning more calories than you are taking in. Simple." IT'S NOT THAT SIMPLE for some people. When I was pregnant, we were talking about going to the gym to work out. This person asked a group of us if we exercise when we get home from work. Bring almost 8 months pregnant I said sarcastically, "Walking is enough exercise for me!" while I rubbed my belly. To this the person said, "Really? Do you think so?" So then I said, "When I get home I go for a walk with Brian then I have to sit down because I am exhausted - I'm growing a person here!!" They just smiled and walked away - WTH!

Another person I know really makes me upset because they often talk of, "fat chicks." When talking about giving birth and pregnancy they've said, "I don't know how any fat chick could do it!" When I heard this, Brian and I were just starting out journey and it made me mad because, well, I am said "fat chick." I wanted to prove this person wrong, and kick the person in the throat a little bit. I was also hoping that this person would visit us in the hospital so I could look at them and say, "What do you know, fat chicks CAN do it!" But they didn't come to visit.

UGH!

This is where I am asking for help...
I need and want to do something about my weight. I see the beautiful pictures Katie took of my family and all I see is that fat chick. I hate that chubby version of me! I need help. I need and want to go hiking, walking, biking, swimming, etc. I need and want to be active and good company will help!

So - does anyone want to set up exercise dates with me/us? I like to walk around the MOA when it's crappy outside and I love walking in general. Swimming is another favorite of mine but I can't do it that often because of my eczema (which is really bad now that Addie is here). I also love to go for bike rides, though I like a leisurely ride and not one that will keep up with Lance Armstrong.

If you want to set something up send me an email!

9 Weeks Old = 2 Months!!

Adelle is growing!
I can not believe my Sweet Girl is 2 months old already (9 weeks, really)! Good lord how time flies! She is doing so many things it is hard to remember what is new and what isn't. Yes she can hold her head up, but it isn't for short periods of time. It is usually whenever she is sitting or propped up - which is whenever she is awake. She LOVES to look around and LOVES to look at lights. She still hates tummy time but we have her down there a few times a day anyway until she gets really fussy. She is able to lift her head and shoulders off the floor - I'm not sure how far off the floor she should have them, but they're off the floor so I'm happy. She is also talking more! I shouldn't be too happy about this because this probably means she is going to like to talk, just like Mommy, but it's so fun to hear! In the morning she giggles, smiles and coos where at night she smiles and tests the top of her range as she squeaks and screeches. It is fun to see her change and grow!

To celebrate Adelle turning 2 months, we decided to have her picture taken (see the 7 week post). By a professional! We got our pictures taken during the session as well, but that really doesn't matter.

Anyway, we went to see Brian's friend, Katie, who owns a photography studio called, "Behind the Lens Photography." We got there and were concerned about how Adelle would react to the new situation, not to mention the three shots she had in her little legs an hour earlier! She did really well though and Katie was able to capture some amazingly beautiful shots of our little girl! I can not wait to see the prints in my hands!

If you would like to see the pictures, and order one/some for your self because Adelle is so adorable, visit Pictage and search for Adelle, or click here. You'll have to register, but it's free and you'll get to see Adelle so isn't it worth it?!

Let us know if you like the pictures and which ones were your favorites. It's tough to decide, so there WILL be more than one favorite!
