35 Weeks = Shower #2

Saturday was an awesome day! I slept until 8:20am, which, normally would be FANTASTIC, but Maria was going to pick me up at 8:45 to go over to Bruce and Sharon's house for our second baby shower. Brian thought I would just wake up in time (since I haven't been able to sleep past 7:15am lately) and I thought he was going to set the alarm for me, oh well, it worked out!

The shower was absolutely beautiful! Danielle made us a diaper cake - which is still intact on our dinning room table - that has so many wonderful things on it! A sippy cup, travel items, shoes, washcloths... it's beautiful!! Laura made us all mimosas. No worries, mine was just grape juice but it was still yummy! Another yummy part of the shower was the food! Danielle and Sharon made some YUMMY dishes that left me both full and wanting more. We played a couple of games - What Was Teresa Wearing, Poopy Diaper, Don't Say Baby, and BINGO. Those were a lot of fun and I have to say, I enjoy candy - clearly - but did really poorly at the poopy diaper game! Apparently I need to melt more of my candy then eat it.

We got a lot of great gifts that both Brian and I are excited about. We got the highchair we registered for as well as some super cute outfits! We got a couple of handmade blankets which are beautiful, and a handmade heirloom bonnet too. A basket full of goodies, toys, Tupperware, and a nursing cover. Danielle and Sharon even made us a diaper bag out of one of her old Air Force flight suits! It is so incredibly cool that we can't describe it! One super cool feature of this diaper bag is that, since it's made out of her old flight suit, it's flame retardant!! I told Brian not to "make sure" of that feature :)

We are completely blessed to have such giving people in our lives! Thank you all so very much, especially Sharon and Danielle! You are awesome!

Adelle is growing:
Adelle doesn't have much room to maneuver now that she's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew). Because it's so snug in my womb, she isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times she kicks should remain about the same. Her kidneys are fully developed now, and her liver can process some waste products. Most of her basic physical development is now complete — she'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight. Awesome, I just hope she doesn't take after her daddy by being a 10+ lb baby! EEK! Oh, and my uterus is 1,000 times it's original size! Double EEK!! Only 34 days to go!
