Welcome Cousin Lila!

Angie had her beautiful little girl on July 21st! Lila, Mom and Dad are all doing well. Lila is such a little peanut - especially compared to Adelle. Oh, and Addie isn't chubby - so please don't say that she is. Compared to her little cousin, she is, and is SUPPOSED to be bigger - she's 6 months OLDER! Anyway, here are some adorable pictures of Lila!

Oh My Goodness...

I believe Adelle is in the beginning stages of CRAWLING! She will prop herself up on her hands, then on her knees, then she'll rock back and forth. Sometimes it looks as though she'll take off, other times it looks uncoordinated. Nevertheless, Brian says she'll be crawling in 3 weeks, I say a month and half. Take a look at the pictures, a couple are blurry - sorry about that, she was rocking - then chime in and tell us what YOU think!!

Here are a few pictures of Adelle and her toys. These are just a few of her toys, by the way!

Sitting on her own!!

I can't even believe it!

We take her to the doctor on the 6th and she couldn't sit for more than 5 seconds, now she's a pro!! She literally started sitting when we brought her home from the doctor on the 6th, but we thought it was a fluke. Then she did it on Friday, Saturday and today! My goodness - she's getting so big!!

6 Months Old!

Our little girl is 6 months old - I can't even believe it! To celebrate the occasion, we decided to take her to the doctor. She really doesn't mind going to the doctor, until they give her shots anyway. They started out like they normally do, with her temperature: 99.6 - normal. Then we stretched out her leg and marked the paper on the 'bed' for her height: 26.25inches - oh my goodness, she is over 2 feet tall! Then I put our squirmy one on the plastic scale and the weight came up: 15lbs 14ozs. I had to look at it again just to believe it. She's come a long way since her 7lb 6oz birth weight!

After all the fun stuff was out of the way, the Dr. Y came in to check on her. He likes the progress she's made with her weight and said we were doing a good job. Of course we had some questions, but he said not to worry too much about things because she is thriving.

So now we wait until 9 months for her next checkup. I can't believe it will be that long! I think I'll have to unofficially weight her at home again in the meantime :)

Yay for our thriving Sweet Girl!!

First Sleepover

Adelle had her first sleepover tonight with Bruce and Sharon. It was really hard to drive home without her, but it was good to have her with people we trust.

Our daycare provider has the week off, so we asked our families if anyone would want to watch Adelle while I was at school. While all of them jumped at the chance, Bruce and Sharon took her on Monday and Tuesday, and my Mom took her the rest of the week. It wasn't until , oh I don't know, Friday night that we realized we didn't have to work due to the holiday, but Bruce and Sharon took her anyway on Monday so Brian and I could have a day of errands.

It was fantastic!

First we had lunch, then we went to a movie (in an actual theater), then we ran a few errands (Target and Walgreens). When we got to the house, Adelle was just eating and we out her down for a nap. We figured it would be fine because we had ordered pizza so by the time we were finished eating, Adelle would be up and we would head home. Well, it didn't work out that way. The pizza was super late and it was past Addie's bed time so we thought, "why take her home when she is going to be here in the morning?!" So we made sure they had enough supplies, put Addie to bed, then left before I could break down. It was SO hard leaving her!!

I think it was better to do it like that, because I didn't have the chance to think about it. It was a quick decision and it turned out just fine. I hugged her extra hard when I picked her up though!!! ;)

4th of July

Our 4th of July was rather uneventful. We started the day at Bruce and Sharon's for brunch. Sharon made a really yummy quiche along with super sticky caramel rolls. I want that recipe... though I think I would make/eat them all the time!! :)

In the afternoon, we went to visit my parents. We ate some delicious food (I have the recipes) and had some fun making Adelle laugh.

Thank you to all of the soldiers for ensuring our freedom!

Pink Cadillac

Alright, so it's not a pink Cadillac, but it's close enough for her! She really enjoyed riding around in this little car. I can't wait to get her in it again just to see how much she has grown. I mean, her feet are already touching the 'floorboards'! Look at her face when Nana Sharon beeps the horn too - she is so happy!
